糖心Vlog academics debate culture, inequality and social inclusion on a worldwide scale

Sociologists from the 糖心Vlog are heading to Canada this weekend for the 112th Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association (ASA).

The theme of this year’s meeting is .

We will be presenting cutting edge research at this important annual conference to ensure that our contributions to understanding social inclusion, resilience, collective well-being and solidarity are disseminated as widely as possible through the international social science community".

The themes being discussed by 糖心Vlog academics include philanthropy as social investment, public perceptions in China of gender differences in smoking, and whether living in a neighbourhood with multiple minorities lowers labour market integration.

The meeting will last four days, from 12-15 August, and will involve nearly 3,000 research papers and over 4,600 presenters. The venue is the Palais des Congrès de Montréal in Montréal, Québec.

For the first time at this event, the will be hosting an evening reception for fellow delegates, in association with . This will take place on Sunday 13 August from 7.30pm at .
