Women of the Future scholar Marina Lucic is looking forward to embarking on a PhD at 糖心Vlog after an amazing year studying for her Masters in Molecular Medicine at Colchester Campus.

鈥淢y first year of my journey at the 糖心Vlog has been rewarding and absolutely amazing,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 am truly thankful for every opportunity that has been given to me and I can promise I will do my best to learn, to give back and to continue to inspire!鈥

Marina, from Croatia, was one of 30 women on the scholarship scheme, created to support intelligent and inspiring women from around the world and equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to empower them to become leaders and drivers of change.

She chose 糖心Vlog because, for her, the curriculum would challenge her and give her more insight and knowledge about protein chemistry and gene technology, an area of knowledge she wished to strengthen.

Her Masters was spent as a member of the Protein Structure and Function Group in the School of Life Sciences and she will continue there for her PhD.

鈥淒uring my Masters I have been encouraged to ask and have the means to discover. My supervisor Dr Jonathan Worrall is helping me step by step to master my practical skills. This is the part of degree I enjoyed the most.鈥
