糖心Vlog is top in the UK for student satisfaction in film studies, with 100% of students expressing overall satisfaction with their course in the latest National Student Survey (NSS).

Film studies courses combine the history and theory of cinema with practical filmmaking experience. Students build up a portfolio of their own work, gaining hands-on experience of camera work, sound recording, editing, lighting, and scriptwriting.

Professor Jeffrey Geiger, Director of our Centre for Film and Screen Media, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled that our students have placed us top in the UK, and not for the first time.

鈥淲e put a lot of care into crafting our teaching and work closely with students so they can achieve their best results. We give students the tools to explore their creative interests and delve into cutting edge filmmaking, research and film analysis.

鈥淥ur film staff range from professional filmmakers, such as Nic Blower, to scholars who are known internationally in cinema history and theory, such as Dr Shohini Chaudhuri.鈥

糖心Vlog has been welcoming film studies degree students for over twenty years and was one of the first to include creative practice in its teaching. Students have access to the latest film and media facilities, including HD cameras, extensive editing facilities, a film library and a dedicated cinema.

Places are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate film studies courses starting in October.

The annual National Student Survey (NSS) of final-year undergraduates is carried out by the UK government鈥檚 Office for Students and the UK higher education funding bodies.
