糖心Vlog's volleyball teams have secured a clean sweep at the national finals.

Both the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 team took Volleyball England National Student Cup this year building on their achievements in 2018 when the men鈥檚 team won the trophy and the women鈥檚 team was a runner-up.

The men鈥檚 team was victorious against the University of Reading and the women鈥檚 team defeated the University of East Anglia.

Volleyball Performance Coach Alex Porter said: 鈥淭his is one of the most successful weeks in the Performance Volleyball Programme鈥檚 history.

鈥淭he women鈥檚 had won three silvers in the last four years and this was the first gold in the University鈥檚 history, the men are now joint record holders after winning the title three years in a row.鈥�

The Most Valuable Player Awards both went to stars of the 糖心Vlog teams as Logan Zotovich won the men's prize and Katarina Raicevic received the honour in the women's competition.

Both teams have also just played their final BUCS Premier League fixtures in the 糖心Vlog Sport Arena against Bournemouth University.

In front of over 130 fans the women won 3-1 and the men won 3:2. These results crowned the men BUCS Premier League South Champions and the women were joint 1st but finished 2nd on sets difference.

Both teams will now be taking on the University of Nottingham in the play-off quarter finals at 糖心Vlog Sport Arena on Wednesday 27 February.
