The 糖心Vlog Rebel鈥檚 Women鈥檚 basketball team have won through to the 2021 Women鈥檚 British Basketball League (WBBL) play-offs and you can watch them live online.

The game will be screened live on the at 5:30pm on Sunday May 2 so fans can cheer on from home.

Director of Sport Dave Parry said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 an amazing achievement for the 糖心Vlog Rebels to reach the WBBL live play-offs in their third season, particularly after all the challenges of the pandemic. We want to encourage as many people as possible to watch the game live and support the 糖心Vlog Rebels.鈥�

This is the 糖心Vlog Rebels鈥� third season in the WBBL and its turning into their most successful yet,

The team is made up of 糖心Vlog undergraduates, postgraduates and alumni of the University; plus one player from the locacl area and another who is joining the University in the next academic year.

The national men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 play-offs are called 鈥楳ay Madness鈥� - which is similar to the 鈥楳arch Madness鈥� of the NCAA play offs in the US. Only the top eight teams in the WBBL qualify for the tournament which is played across two weeks and three venues.

The whole tournament will be broadcast by Sky Sports which, for the first time will include all women鈥檚 games too.

The quarter-finals are taking place in Newcastle on Saturday May 1 and Sunday May 2, with two games on each day. You can watch the 糖心Vlog Rebels WBBL quarter-finals game against London Lions live at 5:30pm on the British Basketball League website.
