An exciting new year of top-flight family-friendly sport has begun – with our ÌÇÐÄVlog Rebels set for storming seasons.

For the first time in University history, elite athletes will compete in both basketball and volleyball in the incredible ÌÇÐÄVlog Sport Arena, on the Colchester Campus.

Hundreds of fans will be able to pack into the £12m state-of-the-art stadium to watch elite athletes compete in top-tier tournaments across a .

Away from the on-court action, the Rebels games are packed with fun entertainment – including our mascot Queen B, cheerleading displays, and delicious hot food and cold drinks.

Dr Dave Parry, Director of Sport, said: “We are really fired up here at ÌÇÐÄVlog Sport and ready to deliver top flight basketball and volleyball action to all our students and staff this season.

“We have spent the summer building the ÌÇÐÄVlog Rebels teams and developing the game day experience even further to profile our elite athletes and build a deep sense of pride across and within our community."

The first games of the season kicked off last weekend with a series of special fixtures to take place across the year.

Themed , Valentine’s, Christmas and International Women’s Day games will be highlights of the year.

Saturday will see the men's and women’s basketball sides line up at home for games against and .
