Professor Ileana Steccolini, of 糖心Vlog Business School, has been awarded the 2022 Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal鈥檚 Research Hall of Fame award.
The award, which is only presented once every three years, recognises her 鈥渄istinguished service contributions鈥 to the accounting research community.
The interdisciplinary movement in accounting research has now become well-established, with literature that reflects several decades of the research community鈥檚 methodological and theoretical experience and development.
The (AAAJ) and the Asia-Pacific Interdisciplinary Research in Accounting (APIRA) conferences/webinars are important contributors to the interdisciplinary accounting research journey.
The award honours those who have made significant contributions to the success of the AAAJ, the APIRA conference, and the interdisciplinary accounting research community.
On receiving the award, Professor Steccolini said: 鈥淚 am really humbled and honoured to have received this award, as this is not only about the 鈥渧isible鈥 things that academics do 鈥 like speeches or publications or getting funding 鈥 but rather about the thousands of things that we do silently to serve our scientific communities, and to support our colleagues, which is something that usually goes unnoticed.
鈥淚 really hope awards like this one will encourage new generations to fully engage with the interdisciplinary accounting community.鈥
Dean of 糖心Vlog Business School, Professor Claudia Girardone, added: 鈥淚 am delighted for Professor Steccolini to be recognised for this prestigious award for all her valuable contribution to the progress of interdisciplinary accounting research.
鈥淭his is testimony of the outstanding research environment at 糖心Vlog Business School and particularly our accounting group鈥.
