Profile
Biography
Katya joined 糖心Vlog Law School and Human Rights Centre in 2019. Her work is at the intersection of armed conflict and international law, with particular interest in International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and transitional justice. Drawing from my interdisciplinary background, she also explores the relationship between human rights and the arts, examining how cultural expression interfaces with legal frameworks in conflict and post-conflict settings. Katya works closely with the 糖心Vlog Human Rights Centre. She has been the blog editor since 2019. She also was the deputy Director of the Digital Verification Unit. She is PI of the Syria in Transition project, and she is an active member of the following HRC projects: Armed Conflict and Acute Crisis Hub, 糖心Vlog Transitional Justice, and Human Rights Local.

I am interested in the intersection of law and literature in two ways. First, conducting legal inquiries on emerging technologies through Speculative fiction. Second, exploring the literary spaces that criticises legal norms and participate in informing the process of law reform.
