Biography

Samantha is a third-year PhD researcher at the 糖心Vlog, specialising in film creative practice with a research focus on the integration of artificial intelligence in contemporary filmmaking. Her doctoral project, From Code to Screen: Exploring the Potential and Limitations of AI-Generated Films in the Context of Creativity and Filmmaking, investigates the creative, technical, and ethical dimensions of AI-assisted film production. Combining practice-based methodologies with critical inquiry, Samantha's research includes the development of an original AI-generated short film alongside qualitative interviews, quantitative analysis, and a comprehensive literature review. The study aims to interrogate the evolving relationship between human and machine creativity, assess the implications for traditional filmic conventions, and contribute to broader debates on the future of digital storytelling. Her academic interests span film theory, creative technologies, AI ethics, and interdisciplinary approaches to media production.
