Biography

Marcia Christina Ferreira is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing & Consumer Research at 糖心Vlog Business School. She earned a PhD in Management from Royal Holloway, University of London. Previously, she served as a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Operations at Brunel Business School and as a Lecturer in Marketing at Liverpool Business School. Before entering academia, she had a lengthy executive career in marketing communications, working with both multinational corporations and local companies in Brazil. Dr. Ferreira鈥檚 diverse background provides unique insights that strengthen the relevance of her academic research, which lies at the intersection of creativity, materiality, and media technologies. She pursues a research agenda that investigates social, material, and digital contexts of consumption, calling into question consumers鈥 roles in shaping contemporary market forms and practices. Her work has been published in leading international journals, handbooks, and book collections, and she has presented at prestigious academic conferences. She is also a founding member of The Scrutinizers, a peer-learning network established by international scholars spanning five continents. The group has published research on the detrimental effects of academic isolation on well-being and professional development among early-career researchers (ECRs) in the field's leading journal.
