Catalysts for Change and Collaborations in New Writing for the Stage: Theatre Underground, 糖心Vlog and Mercury Theatre 1979-96
This project explores the history of Theatre Underground (1979-96), 糖心Vlog campus theatre, and the relationships it forged between 鈥榯own and gown鈥�. New writing for the stage brought to life significant events in local history and new drama in translation brought world theatre to 糖心Vlog. Theatre Underground
The development and subsequent staging of avantgarde and sometimes radical plays at the 糖心Vlog, intended to challenge its audience both creatively and intellectually;
70s and 80s British theatre
The different influences on and currents within British theatre during the 70s or 80s, such as Brecht, the angry young men, Fringe, Agitprop and Women's theatre.
Feminism
The opposition of radical and socialist feminism and how these differences manifest in the works of Roger Howard and Mich猫le Roberts; the roots of female oppression as explored in plays of the 70s and 80s
