Biography

Shabnam Sagar is Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing, School of Health & Social Care, 糖心Vlog. She holds NMC registration in Adult nursing , Mental Health Nursing and is a Non Medical Prescriber in the U.K. She has got extensive experience as a Nurse Educator and registered nurse in clinical practice in diverse clinical areas. Shabnam is a passionate, dynamic, and innovative educator and a researcher. Shabnam's doctorate investigated the effectiveness of Dance Movement Therapy and Music Therapy on the on Hostility and Social Competence Deficits among Adolescents in selected Schools of Ludhiana, Punjab. The core of her research was to empirically evaluate how structured therapeutic interventions, using dance and music, could mitigate negative behaviours and enhance prosocial skills in school settings. This research is significant because it provides valuable data on the application of arts-based therapies in a non-Western context. While the benefits of DMT and MT are well-documented in Western psychology, Shabnam's study contributes to a growing body of evidence supporting their cross-cultural efficacy. Her findings have important implications for school-based mental health programs, suggesting that integrating creative arts therapies could be a viable and effective strategy for promoting emotional regulation and social development in young people. The study highlights the potential of these expressive modalities to serve as powerful tools for psychological intervention, offering a holistic approach to nurturing a healthier and more socially adept generation of adolescents. As a published author of the following nursing textbooks, her academic and professional interests converge on the development of comprehensive and accessible educational resources for the next generation of healthcare professionals. Her writing focuses on translating complex medical and theoretical concepts into clear, practical content that bridges the gap between classroom learning and clinical application. Her work aims to empower nursing students with the knowledge and critical thinking skills essential for success in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape. * Essentials of Nursing Management in Service and Education * Introduction to Nursing Administration * Pharmacology for Nurses * Essentials of Food & Nutrition Before joining 糖心Vlog, Shabnam worked as Assistant Professor at College of Nursing, Christian Medical College and Hospital.
