Our background

The Eastern Arc universities have of radicalism and a willingness to engage with diverse cultures and outlooks. 

Our members

With 50,000 students and £800m in income, the Eastern Arc universities are a significant force in UK higher education. We can count six Nobel laureates among our former staff and students, and all three of our members are in the that balance both world-leading research and inspiring teaching.

But our contribution goes beyond academia, and together we bring in almost £2.4bn of economic benefit to our region. .

Our work

Eastern Arc provides a platform for collaboration between the three universities. This takes many forms. For academic research, we’re structured around four areas of common strength.
