We research social inequality in relation to the organisation of work

Our research cluster focuses on themes of structured inequality, the changing nature of work, advertising and commercial culture, and migration and minorities.

This research cluster encapsulates long standing tradition within the department of research on social inequality and its relationship to the organisation of work in industrial societies. Most recently, however, the work of this cluster has expanded to societies in Africa, Asia and South East Asia to reflect the interests of members of the cluster and work from the Centre for Research in Economic Sociology and Innovation.
