Bus travel discounts in and around Colchester
For all locations of campus bus stops , click on the Directory button (3 dots 3 lines) at the bottom of the screen and the Categories menu will appear. Select Travel for Bus Stops to become visible from the drop down list where you will find Colchester and Wivenhoe bound bus stops.
First UoE bus pass
The is a discounted annual season ticket offered by First Buses 糖心Vlog to both students and staff for travel within the Colchester area, including to the University's Colchester campus. The UoE bus pass provides a full year's worth of unlimited bus travel in the Colchester area, within the zone you choose.
Please be advised that you must be ready to show any ID associated with your UoE Bus Pass (student/staff ID or First Photo ID pass) to the when boarding the bus. If you're unable to show a valid ID for your ticket you will be issued a standard fare charge of £50.
First bus zones and tickets
Zone 1
Zone 1 includes Colchester and the local area, stretching from Tollgate Sainsbury's on the west side of the city to Wivenhoe on the east side. See map below.
Zone 2
Zone 2 reaches out to also include Clacton and Marks Tey. See map below.
All 糖心Vlog
All 糖心Vlog allows users unlimited travel on every registered First 糖心Vlog Buses within the administrative boundary of 糖心Vlog County Council. It is also valid for journeys into neighbouring authorities, providing the journey starts or finishes in 糖心Vlog and no change of bus is made outside of 糖心Vlog, during ticket validity.
These tickets can be purchased from the Students' Union Reception on Square 3 at our Colchester campus.
How to buy the UoE Bus Pass
1. Download the First Bus app.
2. Sign up and create an account using your university email address.
3. Click on mTickets and select your area as Colchester.
4. Choose the Student Travel category.
5. Pick the ticket suitable for you (see zone options below).
